How it all started

Before you meet the current team, lets take you back to the past, and the reason why we are all here, doing what we do...

Julie had the idea for a neurodivergent specific service long before it came to frutition... Julie has spent her life before diagnosis being misunderstood, late for everything, disorganised, clumsy, vulnerable and struggling with every day tasks.

In the early 2000's she had a child who was diagnosed aged 3 with Autism and aged 5 with ADHD. Both these conditions were not really talked about, ADHD often thought to be caused by eating too much sugar (in the media), and Autism meaning some kind of 'mathmatical genius'. This is when Julie found her special interest, studying and learning more and more, networking with other parents and organisations.

During this time, it became clear that there was little support for Autistic and/or ADHD children and even less for adults. Julie wanted to change this but didn't know how.

Years later, whilst training as a counsellor, Julie had the idea of setting up a CIC, this would enable her to counsel adults with Autism and/or ADHD, and a few years later The Counselling and Therapy Hub CIC was established.

We have big dreams and big ideas, we want to grow this community and make it inclusive, accessible and suit every budget, but we need help to get there....
